Storms of oppression

Lightnings of cruelty

It has been mentioned in the traditions and stories that someone asked Genghis Khan that you conquered half the world, your soldiers used to attack a city, they used to end the persecution, they used to torture the old people in their dedication to win. After slaughtering the children and raping the women, they looted all the things from the houses and set them on fire. You were so cruel and oppressive that once after conquering a city, you came to know that some people had tried to survive by hiding themselves in a pile of human corpses, so you ordered to find them and bring them out. And their heads were beheaded, but after that all the Mongols were ordered to behead everyone who was killed so that the living and the dead could be identified. It is your own opinion that it is the greatest joy of my life to kill and destroy my enemies, to see them fall at my feet, to take away their horses and equipment, and to hear the lamentations and cries of their women.

The questioner asked Genghis that there was ever an occasion in your life that you felt sorry for someone, you felt mercy. Genghis Khan nodded his head and said: Yes, once after looting a city, when I was leaving that city, the women were running away with their children in their arms because of my fear. Suddenly a woman’s infant child fell from her hands into the river and began to cry so painfully that I felt mercy for her. I threw my spear in the river, the spear passed through children body and then I handed the child on the spear to the crying mother.

Even today, the feeling of mercy of tyrants and tyrants emerges in another moment when they see the body of their dearest person in the pile of corpses. Timur, who conquered the cities, would collect the skulls of the dead as a sign of his cruelty and build them towers, then he would coat them with the fat of the same people and at night these skulls would be illuminated by fire. Far and wide people knew that Timur had conquered this city, but if you read his autobiography, there comes a point when he burst into tears, kept banging his head against the walls, looking at the pile of dead bodies. Nothing could be done about it, but the soldiers were gathered together and ordered to leave the city immediately. It was at that moment when the fighting was going on in Delhi that the dead body of his beloved and cherished son was brought before him. History tells us that the hearts of tyrants and soldiers of their army are not made of stone, but their interests and orders make them of stone. Since no sword, no bullet, no bomb is reaching them, they are confident. It seems that death will not knock on their door. They and their loved ones will continue to avoid the hatred that arises in the face of brutality and cruelty, but still, if they see the cruel people who have been practiced in the field of war from Genghis Khan’s soldiers to this day, the human being will wake up to them. He keeps reprimanding them for cruelty, he doesn’t let them sleep, he makes them suffer from remorse for a long time.

In front of the world, the role of Genghis, Timur and Halaku of the present day is played by the US military organization Pentagon. There is a report by Pentagon in which two high-profile US agencies have made anti-depressant drugs mandatory for soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. These drugs are regularly used by 23% of US soldiers, while 70% For his mental illness and psychological restlessness, he is getting treatment from the specialists of mental diseases. The stories of these soldiers and the causes of the disease are very similar. For example, they received an order that according to them terrorists are hiding in such and such a house, they destroyed the house by bombarding it. When they went inside, they found children’s toys, dolls, household furniture and small body drawings all around. Some of them could not sleep for many nights and some of them had an immediate mental breakdown.

An example of this is that in the year 2008, about 250 American soldiers committed suicide to get rid of this mental agony and conscience and this process has not stopped yet. Half of them were those who suffered from this mental agony. For treatment, they were taking the sedatives Zoloft and Prozac. These are two painkillers that these soldiers take regularly, but they still hang in front of their eyes in the wreckage and wreckage. The images of the bodies of innocent children and women cannot be faded away, but they are constantly dancing in front of the imagination, and according to the Pentagon, the medical expenses of the soldiers participating in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are still more than 8 billion dollars a year. And these patients will have to bear these expenses for life. Hold your heart and listen to the fact that the famous British newspaper Daily Mail revealed on March 2, 2014 that an American soldier commits suicide every 80 minutes in Iraq and Afghanistan. The same report also revealed that 1868 soldiers attempted suicide in 2009 alone.

The famous American organization “USO” revealed in its report of September 6, 2023, By Danielle DeSimone, “ Suicide rates among active-duty military members are currently at an all-time high since record-keeping began after 9/11 and have been increasing over the past five years at an alarmingly steady pace. In fact, some branches of the Armed Forces are experiencing the highest rate of suicides since before World War II.

In 2021, research found that 30,177 active-duty personnel and veterans who served in the military after 9/11 have died by suicide – compared to the 7,057 service members killed in combat in those same 20 years. That is, military suicide rates are four times higher than deaths that occurred during military operations. For military families and parents, whose active duty loved one already sacrifices so much to protect our freedom, this trend is extremely troubling.

Several causes can lead a person to die by suicide, but for active-duty people who serve, there’s an additional layer of potential stressors on top of the regular ups-and-downs of life that puts them at risk.

In light of this heartbreaking trend, the USO has developed special programming in line with the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) strategies to prevent suicide to support service members in need, even in the darkest of times

I was reading this report from an old record of two such news stories published on the front page of a major newspaper in Occupied Kashmir, Srinagar on September 21, 2012, which shocked me. The first news of the newspaper, the leader of the Communist Party and the member of the Indian Parliament, Gurdas Gupta, expressed serious concern about the violations of human rights in Kashmir, while raising questions in the Parliament about the unmarked graves in Kashmir, the perpetrators of human rights violations. He demanded severe punishment. Gurdas Gupta, who was also a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Committee during the public agitation in Kashmir in 2011, also criticized the contradiction in the words and actions of the Home Minister and said that his announcements have not been remotely related to the ground realities. Declaring the discovery of unmarked graves as a crime against humanity, he demanded a fair investigation to find out who is buried in these graves and also demanded strict action against those involved in their extrajudicial killings. Despite the passage of 12 years, has there been any action on the demand of Gurdas Gupta? The answer is no!

The other important news in the same newspaper is about the judicial proceedings of the Wamiq Farooq murder case. After reading it, I also remembered the letter received from Kashmir by one of my readers, in which he wrote that the deceased Wamiq Farooq was also a half-hearted man. It was the open rose that was brutally crushed by the barrage of bullets and this innocent child was also handed over to those dark roads where thousands of Kashmiris had already arrived. When will the dawn of this dark night of severe violations of human rights dawn?

Since this sad situation has existed in the Kashmir Valley for a long time. Meanwhile, the lamps of these houses are still going out, the old age sticks of elderly parents are breaking before their eyes, the sanctity of the head covering, and the curtain of the house is being violated. We may not even be able to imagine now how life is becoming miserable and constant torment for the common people there. Imran Khan, who claimed to be the advocate of Kashmiris, but came under the pressure of Trump and handed over Kashmiris to the Hindu cruel wolves, and the army chief Bajwa was also involved in this conspiracy. Both Imran and Bajwa loved their temporary power but look at the situation in which the cheaters are now.

There is hardly any area, no town, no village, no nook, or no intersection of the Kashmir Valley where the blood of innocent Kashmiris has not been shed and thousands of Kashmiris are still under detention and countless are missing. The depressed and anxious parents, semi-widows, children, and girls cannot achieve anything except despair and despair. Not only that, but the seriousness of the situation has also  been revealed by the discovery of many nameless graves one after the other, which Kashmiris were buried in these shrines? Despite the clamour of the human rights organization, the list of victims buried in these anonymous graves has not been revealed so that the eyes-burning and hanging wait of their families can end. People are worried that the land has now sprung up the missing Kashmiris from its belly in this situation, every conscious humanist person has agonized over the discovery of these nameless mass graves and the humanity demanding a fair investigation into them. The most senior member of the Indian Parliament, Gurdas Gupta, has now joined the supporters. No one knows what was the guilt and crime of those who were buried in these mass graves after being brutally killed extrajudicially. How long will the silence of those who claim to be the champions of human rights be silenced by those who shout the slogan of the world’s greatest democracy?

They are facing a dire situation. Not only this, but the heart-wrenching screams and cries of Kashmir’s two daughters, A’asia and Nilufar, are still causing grief to human rights leaders and ordinary Kashmiris along with their families. Waiting for their missing children, and now in Srinagar’s Pratap Park, the silent protest of these oppressed mothers by tying their mouths to the head of the authorities has been severely crushed.

When I was writing this heartbreaking article, I don’t know why I suddenly remembered the thousands of young people who are currently locked up in jails or disappeared due to political differences and whose homes have been turned into mourning huts for political reasons. As a prisoner for a long time, he heaves a cold sigh remembering the broken doors and walls, broken windows and destroyed properties of the Kashmir Valley, as well as this 9-year-old innocent child of Batta Malu, who still has the wealth of heart and conscience. While giving him the last bath, his father was shocked to see that he had half a chewing gum in his mouth and that five-rupee coin in Tufail Mattu’s clenched fist was also a tribute to his dying relatives and friends. A haphazard left who in his last moments of life was standing with a five-rupee coin in his hand for rent to return home from tuition when a stun grenade fired by the police crossed his head. And the rags of his innocent body were blown away.

When I was reading this news, I was also seeing in my imagination how when these corpses riddled with bullets reached their homes, the loved ones would have raised their faces to the sky and wailed. Due to the curfew restrictions, their heirs would be begging the Brahmin forces on the streets to go to the graveyard to bury their martyrs. I see the body of an innocent girl clinging to her mother, small children clinging to each other in fear in a room, empty dishes and broken glasses in a kitchen, a burnt letter from someone’s father, someone’s torn diary, someone Hijab or cloak embroidered with crochet by their own hands, and uniformed people were also seen trampling them under the pretext of searching.

Sometimes I wonder if the people on this duty, while burying these bodies in mass graves in this world of confiscation, cleaning all this debris and collecting everything to one side like a garbage heap, They must have remembered their daughters who used to laugh and play in their homes while destroying all the evidence, writing letters of requests to their father? But today all these scenes will be imprinted on their minds. I wish someone would go and ask them how they are living, from whom they are getting treatment, which medicine they are using???

But far away there were those commanding under the light of precious chandeliers who even today believe that no gunshot or bomb can reach them. Will Netanyahu, all his allies and Modi who oppresses in Kashmir not be held to account?

When I was writing these heart-wrenching words and these sad ones، when I was counting the news, the images of Genghis and Halaku were clearly emerging in my mind’s eye, and I felt a longing in my heart that when will the day finally come when peace and harmony and love of humanity will spring for the oppressed people in Kashmir and Gaza. Will they return, when the history of disappearances under custody, atrocities will end? When people will be engaged in their routine life freely, when the narrow demands of people due to political strangulation and political affiliations will become a thing of the past…….hope, prayer and expectation is that one day will surely come. There will be torrential rains of peace, from which hopes will rise in the mountains and deserts, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls will be filled, and we will rise again in the world with a unique and unique identity. God willing

I have a very highly educated professor and a dear friend whom I consider to be my benefactor. He continues to advise us that we have to continue serving humanity like a compassionate teacher, so there is absolutely no need to be disappointed. These days, this friend of mine is busy day and night to serve humanity due to his medical experience. We request you all to remember them in your prayers so that they continue to serve humanity selflessly. May Allah support and protect us all and may we all soon see the day when the atmosphere of complete peace and tranquillity prevails in the world.
